Ready for First floor Walls

I have been working on the house every night this week getting ready for next week when I go on vacation for 10 days to start framing up the 1st and 2nd floor. I have some of the Band boards up but I need to finish them up. I should have pictures of the first floor by the time I update my site again.

Main Beams and partial walls in the basement are in and finished! Thanks Tim! The garage floor is finished and now we are ready for the outer band boards so that we can start laying out our floor joists.

Garage Floor

Garage floor is ready for concrete. 5 to 6 yards of concrete and we will be ready for framing. Notice the rebar I have ran. I have it sitting on top of the concrete pillars that go down into the ground. This shoud prevent setteling.

Basement floors are poured and I should have pics by tomorrow

Grade difference

This shows the level of the garage vs the basement floor. The garage is 8' higher than the basement floor, yet only 8 to 10 inches lower than the first floor.

The Garage

To keep the garage at the grade we need I have place 10" tubes on un deisturbed ground up to the final grade the garage floor will be so that we will not have to worry about settlement of the floor in 30 years. We will have over 100 ton of "57's" in the garage so the floor will be at the right level. After everything is finished with the entire footer, we should have 220 ton of gravel, and 110 yards of concrete.

Ready for Floors

Walls are poured, Moisture plastic and wire mesh is down and ready for Basemement floors.

Forms for the Basement walls are set. 9' tall and 10 inches thick in most areas that are the longest. Short walls are 8 inches thick. The shorter walls can be thinner since they are not taking as much pressure as the longer walls

100 Ton of Gravel! That is what I have in the middle and sides of the footer, along with 4" drainage around both sides of the footer. We are ready for Basement walls

Concrete is poured

Concrete is poured and ready for the forms to be wrecked and pressure washed. I will use the forms to build my I beams for the house. One of the many ways to reuse material to save money.

Now the forms for the footers are set and all that is left is the rebar and wire mesh. I ran a 12" x 24" footer for a 2 story home with a total of 23 Cubed yards of concrete.

This is what our house looked like before we started breaking ground for the house. No mud yet!

2 Days later we have a big hole in the ground to fit a house in.

Start of the House Build

My wife and I have been looking to build a house for a while now and have finaly started. We broke ground August 12th 2006 and today the basement floors are being poured as we speak.! I have a few pictures to show the progress of our house. It has taken 4 years of planning a prep for this to happen for us and Kyla and I are very excited about the entire build.
