New Steps on the side porch

I'm a year late on updating the site, but here are the pictures that show our new steps added on the side. This makes caring firewood in a lot easier than before! I went with 6x6's for the posts. 2x6's for the framing, and 5/4x6 for the flooring and railing to hold the 1 inch spindles.

Landscaping

We have finally finished the landscaping in front of the house. Treated lattice, 150 12" Castle rock, 5 yards of topsoil, 2 yards of mulch, and all the plants and bushes that she wanted. It took us about 5 days to complete, but were were not dedicated the entire time. We have some minor stain work to finish, but the big parts of it are complete.

Here are a few pictures while we were building.

Sidewalk is finished.

The sidewalk is finished as far as all the rock and the mortar. I need to pressure wash the creek rock and get the excess mortar off. Need to seed grass around it and get gravel for the front part of the walkway to the driveway and we will be finished and ready to move on to landscaping.

Creek Rock Sidewalk

It has been a while since I have added any updates to the site...... So we have started on the sidewalk for the front steps. We decided to stay with the rustic look and build it out of creek rock, sand, and mortar.
We only have about 5 more feet of creek rock and sand to finish.

This is what we have finished so far with 10 bags of mortar. We should be able to finish the walkway up by this coming weekend

Kyla and I used a sponge to level out the mortar so that the creek rock and mortar flow well together.

I used to forms for the mortar and to help me keep the creek rock as level as possible.

The layout of the sand and creek rock.

This was the rough lay so we would know if we had enough rock and we would get the look we wanted.

Conners Swing set is Finished!

We have Conner's swing set finished and he loves his slide! I drew this up on a piece of paper and Kyla and I built it!

HAPPY HALOWEEN

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Halloween. There have been some minor updates recently. We moved all the left over scrap from the house build and burned it all this weekend. And cleaned up the basement. With the rain we just had I should be able to start growing the back and side yard.

Meter base Moved

We moved our Meter this weekend and now have our entire back and side yard finished. Once it rains we can land level and seed. Now that most of the outside is finished for this season we can start back up on more trim in the house. Next year we will start the landscaping, sidewalks, and side and rear steps on the porch.

Trailer is moved!

The new owners of the trailer had it moved this weekend. We had the hole filled back up and final grade. Now we can move on and start to seed and finish up the rest of the back yard.
